City Pet Registration Requirements

Dallas Pet Registration Requirements

Since June 17, 2017 Dallas ONLY requires that you microchip you rpet – you do not have to register with the city. All pets 4 months of age and older must have a microchip in the city of Dallas, and they must be up to date on their Rabies vaccination.

Microchipping is available at all Low Cost Pet Vax clinics (see our locations here) for $30, or $20 with any package. All that your pet needs according to city pet registration requirements is a microchip (with current owner information).

Fort Worth Pet Registration Requirements

Fort Worth city pet registration laws require all dogs, cats and ferrets that are not microchipped to have a pet license. A microchip can now replace registration, but the microchip’s information must be up-to-date. If you think your pet’s microchipped but don’t know if it’s been registered or updated, we can scan your pet for the microchip number. You can use that number to look up your pet’s information and see if it’s correct.

Fort Worth also requires dogs and cats that aren’t spayed or neutered to have an ‘intact pet permit’. These are a one-time fee of $50.
