Dallas Pet Registration Requirements
Dallas requires pets 4 months and older to be registered with the city. Update: Since June 17, 2017 Dallas has replaced mandatory microchipping for animal registration laws.
Microchipping is available at all Low Cost Pet Vax clinics for $35, or $20 with any package.
All that’s needed is a microchip and you no longer have to worry about annual registration!
Fort Worth Pet Registration Requirements
Fort Worth pet registration laws require all dogs, cats and ferrets that are not microchipped to have a pet license. A microchip can now replace registration, but it must be registered.
Pet licenses need to be renewed every year or every three years. Fort Worth also offers life-time pet registration. A rabies certificate is required for all pet licenses:
One-year license with microchip – $12
One-year license without microchip – $36
Three-year licenses (requires microchip & 3 year rabies) – $12
A late license fee is $100 regardless.
Fort Worth also requires dogs and cats that aren’t spayed or neutered to have an ‘intact pet permit’. These are a one-time fee of $50.
